Where it all began
Our journey began in 2008
EcoHub.co.za began as an online community focused on natural health, sustainable living and practical ways to live more consciously. The forum brought together people interested in healthier choices and environmentally responsible products.
From community to ecommerce
EcoHub became an online store in 2012
In July 2012, EcoHub evolved into an ecommerce business. Our first customer order was placed on 12 July 2012 for an Oscar Juicer, and almost all of our earliest orders were for this much-loved South African juicer brand.
Simplicity in design and form
Supporting essential needs during COVID-19
When South Africa entered lockdown in 2020, EcoHub was briefly required to close. We reviewed our catalogue to identify products that could qualify as essential supplies and shifted our focus toward air quality and sanitation equipment.
Demand for air purification increased rapidly. During the pandemic, EcoHub supplied thousands of HEPA and ozone air purifiers to homes, medical practices, dental surgeries, businesses and facilities used for government quarantine.
This period strengthened our expertise in air-quality products and demonstrated our ability to adapt quickly while continuing to serve customers during exceptional circumstances.
A bigger step into solar
Leading the way with Huawei iSitePower-M
In 2022, EcoHub took a significant step into the solar and backup-power market when we began supplying the Huawei iSitePower-M.
Its quiet operation, refined design and modular hybrid architecture offered customers a very different alternative to conventional inverter and battery systems. EcoHub quickly became one of South Africa’s leading suppliers of the iSitePower-M, supplying systems nationwide and developing specialist knowledge of its configuration, installation and expansion.
Expanding our relationship with Daikin
From air purification to air conditioning
EcoHub had supplied Daikin air purifiers for a number of years before expanding into Daikin air conditioning in November 2024.
During our first summer selling Daikin air conditioners, EcoHub won Daikin South Africa’s summer campaign. The main prize was a trip to Japan in September 2025, where we visited Daikin’s factory and technology centre in Osaka alongside leading Daikin partners from across Europe.
The visit gave us valuable insight into Daikin’s manufacturing, research and approach to advanced, energy-efficient climate control.
The story comes full circle
From Oscar to SANA South Africa
After many years as one of South Africa’s largest sellers of Oscar Juicers, EcoHub entered discussions with the previous importer about taking over the importation of the range. Following those discussions, we agreed to continue the story under the international SANA brand.
The Oscar Classic DA950, the final Oscar model sold in South Africa, was already based on a SANA-designed juicer developed with the Hurom factory in Korea and sold internationally as the SANA 707. Moving to the SANA name therefore represented continuity rather than a departure from the product range our customers had trusted for many years.
Becoming the official South African distributor of SANA also connected EcoHub to an established international brand with a strong presence in Europe and the United States. It gave South African customers access to a broader range of models, including more advanced premium juicers and other SANA products such as stone grain mills.
