The Santos 11 is the original. Designed and built in France by Santos since 1954, it’s the citrus juicer you’ll find behind the bar at serious cafés, juice bars and hotels around the world — and the one most South African buyers eventually settle on once they’re tired of replacing cheaper machines every couple of years.
Three interchangeable squeezer heads handle oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits. A quiet induction motor delivers a commercial-grade 30 litres per hour. And the whole machine carries the European LONGTIME® durability label, with spare parts guaranteed for at least a decade.
Not sure if it’s right for you? Give us a call on 079 885 8806 — we’ve been advising on commercial and home juicers since 2012, and we’re happy to talk you through whether the Santos 11 is the right fit or whether something else in our range makes more sense.
Why the Santos 11 still matters
Most citrus juicers on the market are designed to be replaced. The Santos 11 is designed to be kept.
Santos, a family-run French manufacturer, has been making this exact machine — in the same Lyon-area factory — since 1954. Seventy-plus years of continuous production, with the same commitment to repairability and parts availability that earned it one of the few kitchen-appliance LONGTIME® certifications in the world. If you’ve ever ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice at a proper European café, there’s a very good chance it was squeezed on one of these.
We’ve been selling commercial and home juicers at EcoHub since 2012, and we’ve developed strong opinions about what belongs in our range. The Santos 11 earned its spot for one reason: when our commercial customers come back looking to replace a cheap citrus juicer that lasted eighteen months, the Santos 11 is almost always what we recommend — and it’s almost always the last one they ever buy.

What it’s built for
At its core, the Santos 11 does one job, brilliantly: it turns whole halves of citrus into juice, quickly, quietly and cleanly.
The motor is the heart of it. Induction motors don’t have carbon brushes, which is the component that fails first in domestic juicers. That’s why a Santos 11 in daily commercial use routinely lasts decades — we have customers still running machines they bought in the 1990s. The motor is also remarkably quiet, which matters if the juicer is going to live on the front counter of a café or behind a hotel breakfast buffet.
Output is around 30 litres of juice per hour — roughly 200 to 240 medium oranges, depending on how juicy they are. That’s enough to keep pace with a busy breakfast rush, a Saturday morning at a farmers’ market, or an all-morning wedding brunch without the motor breaking a sweat.
The body is cast aluminium, tilted forward at a carefully calculated angle. This isn’t styling — it ensures juice flows down to the spout rather than pooling in the bowl, which is how you maintain a consistently high yield through a long service. The 125 mm spout height fits a standard serving glass underneath, so there’s no jug, no transfer step, no splashing — juice goes straight from fruit to glass.
Three heads, four fruits, zero fuss
Every Santos 11 ships with three interchangeable squeezer cones:
- A small cone for lemons and limes
- A medium cone for oranges (the one most bars and cafés use all day)
- A large cone for grapefruits and oversized Valencias
Swapping takes about three seconds. All three heads, the bowl, the grid and the stainless-steel ring lift out for washing, and all of them are dishwasher-safe. Most commercial operators clean the whole machine down in under two minutes between services.
The LONGTIME® label — why this matters
The Santos 11 is one of a very small number of kitchen appliances worldwide to carry the European LONGTIME® durability label. This isn’t a marketing badge — it’s an independent certification, audited by APAVE (certificate number 577143), that measures:
- Genuine lifespan and robustness under real-world conditions
- Repairability — is the product designed so that broken parts can actually be replaced?
- Minimum 10-year availability of spare parts
- Quality and accessibility of after-sales support
For you, this translates into something simple: a Santos 11 bought from EcoHub today can be serviced, repaired and kept in service well into the 2040s. That’s a different category of purchase from almost anything else in the citrus-juicer market.
Who this is right for
The Santos 11 is the right machine if you’re:
- Running a juice bar, café or coffee shop where fresh OJ is a daily menu item
- Operating a hotel, guesthouse or lodge with breakfast service
- Building a cocktail bar that takes its fresh citrus seriously
- Managing a restaurant using fresh juice in the kitchen or on the menu
- A health-food store or wellness retailer offering fresh juice in-store
- A serious home user who wants a commercial-grade machine that will outlast the kitchen it sits in
And it’s probably not the right machine if you need to juice apples, carrots, celery, beetroot, ginger or leafy greens — that’s what a centrifugal or cold-press juicer is for. More on that below.
How the Santos 11 compares to other juicers we sell
This is the question we get most often, so it’s worth answering properly:
If you’re only juicing citrus, the Santos 11 will outperform any centrifugal or cold-press juicer on yield, purity, speed and cleanup. It’s the specialist tool.
If you need to juice non-citrus produce (carrots, celery, apples, greens, ginger), you want a different machine. For commercial use, we’d point you toward the Kuvings CS600, Hurom H22, or Santos 68 depending on volume and juice style. For home therapeutic juicing, the Sana 707 or Sana 727 Supreme is where we’d start the conversation.
If you’re doing both — which many of our commercial customers are — the ideal setup is a Santos 11 for your citrus station and a dedicated cold-press or centrifugal for everything else. They’re not competitors; they’re partners.
If you’d like to talk through the right combination for your specific setup, give us a call. That’s genuinely what we’re here for — we’d rather spend twenty minutes on the phone and help you buy the right machine than sell you the wrong one.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Santos 11 really made in France?
Yes. The Santos 11 has been designed and manufactured in France by Santos without interruption since 1954. It carries the European LONGTIME® durability label (APAVE certificate #577143), which independently verifies country of manufacture, repairability and spare-parts availability.
What’s the difference between the Santos 11 and the Santos 11C?
They’re mechanically identical. The “C” indicates the chrome finish; the standard 11 typically ships in the iconic Santos green. Same motor, same output, same warranty.
Can it juice grapefruits?
Yes — a large cone specifically for grapefruits is included in the box, and it’ll comfortably handle oversized Valencias too.
How many oranges does it juice per hour?
Around 200–240 medium oranges, depending on how juicy they are. That translates to roughly 30 litres of juice per hour.
Is it suitable for home use?
Absolutely. It’s designed as a commercial machine, but plenty of our customers buy one for home because they want something that’ll still be working in twenty years. If you take fresh orange juice seriously, it’s the most durable option on the South African market.
How do I clean it?
The bowl, grid and squeezer heads lift out and are dishwasher-safe. The motor housing wipes clean with a damp cloth. Most commercial users clean the whole machine in under two minutes between services.
Is it noisy?
No — that’s one of the reasons it’s so popular with front-of-house operators. The induction motor is notably quieter than any centrifugal juicer.
What warranty does it come with?
Two years, backed by EcoHub’s local South African support. If anything goes wrong, you call us directly. Spare parts are guaranteed for at least ten years under Santos’s LONGTIME® commitment, so the machine remains serviceable well beyond the warranty.
Does it work on South African power?
Yes. We supply the 220–240 V / 50 Hz version, which is correct for South African mains.
Can I speak to someone before buying?
Yes, please — that’s genuinely our favourite part of the job. Call us on 0798858806 or drop us an email. We’ll help you work out whether the Santos 11 is the right machine for your setup, or whether something else in our range would suit you better.
Buying from EcoHub
There are places online where you can order a commercial juicer with a click and never speak to a human. EcoHub is not one of them — and that’s by design.
Every juicer we sell is one we’ve either used ourselves, serviced, or placed with enough commercial customers to know exactly how it performs in the real world. When you call or email us, you’re talking to someone who can tell you which machine our other juice-bar customers in Cape Town chose, what breaks first on the cheaper alternatives, and whether the Santos 11 is genuinely the right tool for what you’re trying to do — or whether something else in our range would serve you better.
After purchase, you get the same thing. Warranty claims go through us, not an anonymous international helpline. Spare parts, service advice, operational questions — one phone call, one email, real answers.
Since 2012, that’s been the EcoHub difference. It’s why the reviews are what they are.
