Coverage & sizing (ACH)
Correct sizing is about air changes per hour (ACH)—not just square metres.
- Find room volume: length × width × height.
- Choose a target ACH:
- General home use: 3–5 ACH
- Allergies/smoke: 5–8 ACH
- Clinical/consulting: 6–10 ACH
- Required CADR ≈ (Room volume × Target ACH) ÷ 60.
Example: 7 m × 5 m × 2.6 m = 91 m³. For 5 ACH → (91 × 5) ÷ 60 ≈ 758 m³/h. One GMCAP500 (500 m³/h) gives ~3.3 ACH; use two units for ~6.6 ACH.
Filtration system (8 stages)
- Pre-filter — traps hair, lint and larger dust to extend HEPA life.
- H13 HEPA — captures ultra-fine particles (dust, pollen, mould spores, fine smoke) at 99.97% @ 0.3 µm.

At ~32 dB on low, the GMCAP500 is whisper-quiet. Place 20–30 cm from walls with a clear intake path. Leave in Auto for daily use and boost to High during cooking, vacuuming or visible dust/smoke events.

When to choose a different model
- Rooms needing ≥750 m³/h for 5 ACH—use two units or a higher-CADR model.
- Small bedrooms (≤20 m²)—a 300–350 m³/h purifier may be quieter and more economical.
- Strict “no-ionizer” policy—disable the ionizer here or pick a model without one.
FAQs
Does it remove odours and smoke?
Yes. Activated Carbon and Cold Catalyst target VOCs and everyday smells; for heavy smoke, run higher speeds or add a second unit to raise ACH.
Is it suitable for bedrooms?
Yes. At ~32 dB on low it’s quiet enough for sleep. Use Auto or set a timer to avoid high-speed bursts overnight.
Can I switch off the ionizer?
Yes. The ionizer can be disabled from the control panel if you prefer particle-only filtration.
