MORE CAPACITY
Another 4,096 Wh for your DELTA Pro 3
The EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery is a 4,096 Wh lithium iron phosphate pack that plugs into a DELTA Pro 3 and doubles the energy it holds. It has no inverter or sockets of its own: the power station charges it and draws from it as if it were one bigger battery.
It connects with the cable in the box and is recognised by the DELTA Pro 3 straight away; the EcoFlow app then shows both batteries and the combined charge. EcoFlow asks that both units run the latest firmware, which the app updates.
An LED bar on the front shows its own charge level, so you can see at a glance how much is left in each pack.

The extra battery adds hours, not watts: the same 4,000 W, for twice as long.

UP TO 12 KWH
Two of them take a DELTA Pro 3 to 12 kWh
A DELTA Pro 3 takes up to two extra batteries. One gives 8,192 Wh, two give 12,288 Wh, which EcoFlow rounds to 12 kWh.
In practice, a household running a fridge, router, LED lights and a TV uses roughly 2 kWh a day on those essentials. A DELTA Pro 3 alone covers well over a day; with two extra batteries, about five days, or a weekend of heavier use with a microwave and kettle added.
Output does not change: the DELTA Pro 3 still delivers up to 4,000 W. The extra battery adds hours, not watts.
WHERE IT MATTERS
For long outages, long weekends and remote sites
At home it turns a few hours of backup into a day or more, which is what matters when an outage runs past the schedule or a substation fails.
At a campsite or on a game farm it means a fridge-freezer and lights for a long weekend without running a generator, and more in the bank on cloudy days when the solar panels fall short.
On a smallholding or worksite it keeps pumps, tools and a site office going through the night after a day of charging from solar.

ALSO FITS THE DELTA 3 ULTRA PLUS
It works with the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus too
EcoFlow South Africa lists the DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery as the expansion battery for the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus as well. One extra battery takes the Ultra Plus from 3,072 Wh to 7,168 Wh, which EcoFlow quotes as up to 7 kWh.
So a DELTA 3 Ultra Plus owner who later moves up to a DELTA Pro 3 keeps the same battery.
It does not work with the original EcoFlow DELTA Pro, which EcoFlow confirms. The DELTA 2 and DELTA 3 Plus families use their own, smaller extra batteries.
BATTERY
The same LFP cells as the DELTA Pro 3
Inside are automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate cells, rated by EcoFlow for 4,000 cycles to 80% capacity: about 11 years of charging once a day.
It charges between 0 °C and 45 °C and discharges between −10 °C and 45 °C. Like the power station, it belongs indoors or under a roof, out of direct sun.
At 33 kg and 694 × 295 × 215 mm it is a two-handed lift but slim enough to stand beside the DELTA Pro 3 or slide under a bench.

MADE FOR SOUTH AFRICAN POWER
Supplied through EcoFlow South Africa
This is EcoFlow’s battery for the South African DELTA Pro 3 and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, supplied through EcoFlow South Africa. It runs on DC from the power station, so there is no plug or voltage to get wrong.
EcoFlow covers it for 5 years from the date on your invoice. If anything goes wrong, we log the claim with EcoFlow and follow it up for you.
Batteries bought from overseas stores carry no South African warranty and are expensive to return; ours are covered here.

How the extra battery sits against the alternatives
The alternative to an extra battery is a second DELTA Pro 3. That gives a second 4,000 W inverter and sockets in another room, but costs more and the two units work separately. If one place needs power for longer, the extra battery is the cheaper and simpler route; if two places need power at once, a second unit makes sense.
If the plan is backup for every circuit in the house, the batteries in a fixed system do that job better. The EcoFlow PowerOcean takes up to four PowerOcean 5 kWh batteries under an installed inverter that runs from rooftop solar. Those batteries do not connect to a DELTA, and this one does not connect to a PowerOcean.
Questions we are asked about the DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery
No. It has no inverter, sockets or charging input of its own. It must be connected to a DELTA Pro 3 or DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, which charges it and draws from it.
Up to two on a DELTA Pro 3, for 12 kWh in total. One on a DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, for about 7 kWh.
No. EcoFlow confirms it is not compatible with the DELTA Pro. The other way round does work: an older DELTA Pro Smart Extra Battery can be connected to a DELTA Pro 3.
On a DELTA Pro 3, yes. EcoFlow notes that because the two have different capacities, their charge levels will drift apart a little.
It doubles the energy of a DELTA Pro 3. On household essentials (fridge, router, lights, TV) that is roughly another two days; with heavier loads such as a kettle, microwave or heater, considerably less. Tell us what you run and we will work it out.
Through the power station it is connected to, from whatever is charging that unit: the wall, solar panels, a generator or a vehicle. The DELTA Pro 3 shares the charge between its own battery and the extra batteries.
We order it from EcoFlow South Africa when you place your order. If EcoFlow South Africa is out of stock, the product shows as out of stock here too, and we can let you know when it is back.
