ONE MORE BATTERY
Five more kilowatt-hours for your PowerOcean
This is the EcoFlow PowerOcean LFP Battery: a 5.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack that stacks under a PowerOcean inverter. It is the same battery that ships in our PowerOcean systems, so it matches the packs already in yours.
One battery is used across EcoFlow’s first-generation range: the PowerOcean single-phase inverters, the PowerOcean three-phase and the PowerOcean Plus three-phase. On the single-phase system, up to four stack under one inverter; on the PowerOcean Plus, up to twelve in stacks of three.
It does not work with inverters from other brands. Batteries from other makers do not connect to a PowerOcean inverter either.

WHAT IT CHANGES
More hours, and more power during an outage
Each battery delivers up to 3.3 kW and charges at up to 2.5 kW. On a single-phase PowerOcean with one battery, that caps backup at about 3.3 kW from storage; a second battery lifts it to the inverter’s full 5 or 6 kW. That is the upgrade single-battery owners notice first: the kettle and the microwave can run during a power cut.
A third and fourth battery add hours rather than power: 15.3 and 20.4 kWh of storage, with the stack reaching 1.92 m at four.
More storage also means more of a sunny day’s solar is kept for the evening rather than lost once the batteries are full.
BUILT IN, NOT BOLTED ON
Heating, battery management and fire suppression in every pack
Every pack has its own battery management system and DC-DC converter, built-in heating for cold mornings and an active aerosol fire-suppression module. EcoFlow rates it for more than 6,000 cycles.
It is IP65 rated and runs at 35 dB or less with natural cooling, so it can go indoors or out, on the floor base or the wall-mounted base. Each pack measures 680 × 183 × 424 mm and weighs 55.5 kg, a two-person lift.
Every battery we sell comes through EcoFlow South Africa and carries its local warranty, which EcoFlow South Africa states as 10 years.

Which PowerOcean battery upgrade makes sense
Buying a new system? The complete PowerOcean 6kW package includes the batteries, base and meter, and is simpler to order than the parts.
Already own a single-phase PowerOcean with one battery? A second brings you to 10.2 kWh and the full inverter output. On a three-phase PowerOcean Plus, every third battery needs its own Base and Junction Box.
Building a new system from scratch, the newer OCEAN 2 LFP battery comes in 5 and 8 kWh with IP66 sealing, and EcoFlow designed the OCEAN 2 range to work alongside PowerOcean. Ask us before combining the two.
Questions we are asked about the PowerOcean battery
Yes, with any EcoFlow PowerOcean single-phase, PowerOcean three-phase or PowerOcean Plus three-phase inverter. It does not work with other brands.
Up to four on a single-phase PowerOcean (20.4 kWh), and up to twelve on a PowerOcean Plus in stacks of three, each stack on its own Base and Junction Box.
Have your installer do it. The pack weighs 55.5 kg, it must be seated correctly in the stack, and the system is updated in the EcoFlow app so the inverter uses the new capacity.
On a single-phase system with one battery, a second doubles storage and lifts backup output from about 3.3 kW to the inverter’s full rating. After that, each battery adds about 5 kWh, roughly eight more hours at a 500 W essential load once losses are allowed for.
EcoFlow designed the OCEAN 2 range to be combined with PowerOcean, with limits on how mixed stacks are built. Tell us your inverter and current batteries and we will confirm the setup with EcoFlow before you order.
EcoFlow South Africa states a 10-year warranty on PowerOcean. If a battery fails, contact us with your order number: we log the claim with EcoFlow, follow it up and keep you informed until it is resolved.
Faults caused by the installation are the installer’s workmanship and are taken up with them.
Yes. The battery heats itself in cold conditions, using some of its own energy, and works from −20 °C.
Yes. It is IP65 rated. EcoFlow’s installation guide asks for more than 500 m from the sea and 300 mm clearance around the stack.
