THREE-PHASE, FULL POWER
Backup for the big house, the farm or the small business
The EcoFlow PowerOcean Plus is EcoFlow’s three-phase hybrid system for properties with a three-phase supply: large homes, smallholdings, guest houses and small commercial buildings. One inverter delivers 25 or 29.9 kW across all three phases, from the grid, the panels or the batteries.
This listing is the complete package: the PowerOcean Plus three-phase inverter, three to twelve PowerOcean LFP 5 kWh batteries (15 to 60 kWh), one Base and Junction Box for every stack of three, and the ADL400N-CT three-phase smart meter.
During an outage it backs up the whole property at full three-phase power, so three-phase motors, borehole pumps, workshop machines and air-conditioning carry on, not just the lights.

Three-phase backup at full power, so the borehole pump, the workshop and the air-conditioning carry on through a power cut.

WHAT THE BATTERY SETS
Output from storage grows with every battery
Each PowerOcean battery delivers up to 3.3 kW, so the battery count decides how much of the inverter’s rating is available when there is no grid and no sun. Three batteries give about 10 kW from storage, six about 20 kW, and eight or more cover the full 25 kW. The inverter itself can charge and discharge at its full rating.
During the day the panels add to that, which is why a well-sized solar array matters as much as the battery on a property like this.
Batteries stand in stacks of three on a Base and Junction Box, which connects each stack to the inverter, and up to four stacks (twelve batteries, 61.2 kWh) run on one inverter.
SOLAR AT SCALE
Up to 40 kW of panels on three inputs
Both models take up to 40 kW of solar: 20 kW on the first input across two strings, and 10 kW on each of the other two. With a 200 to 850 V tracking range and a 1,000 V maximum, it suits long strings on large roofs and ground mounts.
EcoFlow rates the inverter at 98% maximum efficiency, with arc-fault detection built in, which matters on the long DC runs of a farm or commercial roof.
An existing solar installation can stay in place, and the system can be expanded to three inverters in parallel for larger sites.

WHERE IT WORKS
Homes, farms, guest houses and workshops
The inverter is IP65 rated and works from −20 to 50 °C, indoors or out, and mounts on the wall above the battery stacks. EcoFlow rates its fan noise below 45 dB.
Every battery stack stands on its own base with levelling feet, and the battery cables between the junction box and the inverter can be extended up to 20 m, so the batteries do not have to sit right under the inverter.
EcoFlow’s inverter switches to backup typically within 20 ms, fast enough that most equipment rides straight through.
MADE FOR SOUTH AFRICAN POWER
Supplied through EcoFlow South Africa
The inverter is built for the standard 230/400 V, 50 Hz three-phase supply, and draws up to 63 A per phase from the grid.
Every system we sell comes through EcoFlow South Africa and carries its local warranty, which EcoFlow South Africa states as 10 years. Units imported privately carry no local support.
A system this size is designed and installed by a qualified installer, who supplies the protection, cabling and distribution board work and issues the Certificate of Compliance.

How the PowerOcean Plus sits against the alternatives
If the property has a single-phase supply, the EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase is the system to look at: whole-home backup at 8, 10 or 12 kW, IP66 and up to 24 kW of solar. Many large homes on a three-phase supply also run happily on a single-phase system covering one phase, if there are no three-phase motors to back up.
For a three-phase property that only needs the essentials on backup, a smaller three-phase hybrid inverter such as the Sunsynk 12kW three-phase with separate batteries is the lower-cost route, though without the integrated stacking and high-voltage batteries of the PowerOcean Plus.
Installers buying parts can order the PowerOcean Plus inverter, PowerOcean LFP batteries, Base and Junction Box and ADL400N-CT smart meter separately.
Questions we are asked about the PowerOcean Plus
Yes. The PowerOcean Plus connects to a 230/400 V three-phase supply. For a single-phase property, look at the OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase instead.
Both take the same 40 kW of solar and the same batteries. The 29.9 kW model delivers more power at once, for properties with large simultaneous loads such as several air-conditioners, pumps and workshop equipment. Your installer sizes it from the peak demand.
Start from the power you need during an outage at night, then the hours. Each battery delivers up to 3.3 kW, so eight are needed for the full 25 kW from storage alone. Many properties start with six (30 kWh) and add more, up to twelve per inverter.
Each stack of batteries connects to the inverter through its own junction box, which carries the DC fuse and battery switch, and stands on its own base. This package uses stacks of three, the figure EcoFlow’s battery manual gives; up to four junction boxes run on one inverter.
Yes, up to the inverter’s rating, on all three phases. With one ADL400N-CT meter at the grid connection, the whole distribution board sits behind the inverter during an outage.
EcoFlow gives typically under 20 ms. It can be longer where grid-code settings for low-voltage ride-through are enabled, which your installer configures.
A qualified installer, who designs the system, issues the Certificate of Compliance and handles registration with your municipality or Eskom. Ask us for installers in our network if you do not have one.
EcoFlow South Africa states a 10-year warranty on the PowerOcean Plus. If something fails, contact us with your order number: we log the claim with EcoFlow, follow it up and keep you informed until it is resolved.
The warranty covers the equipment. Faults caused by the installation itself are the installer’s workmanship and are taken up with them.
It carries the property through outages from battery and solar. EcoFlow does not describe it as a stand-alone off-grid inverter, so for a site with no grid connection at all, speak to us first.
