An inverter aircon cools in summer and heats in winter far more efficiently than a heater, a purifier takes smoke, pollen and pet dander out of the air, and a dehumidifier keeps damp and mould out of coastal homes. Aircon, purifier or dehumidifier?
Aircon. An inverter wall split cools in summer and heats in winter far more efficiently than a heater, and runs quietly enough for a bedroom. A 9 000 BTU unit suits most bedrooms; 12 000 to 18 000 BTU suits most lounges.
Purifier. A HEPA purifier takes smoke, pollen, dust and pet dander out of the air. The Daikin MC55W adds Streamer technology for odours.
Dehumidifier. If windows run with condensation or cupboards smell musty, a dehumidifier takes the moisture out before it turns into mould.

As a rough guide for a standard ceiling height: 9 000 BTU for a room up to about 15–18 m², 12 000 BTU for about 18–25 m², 18 000 BTU for about 25–35 m² and 24 000 BTU for about 35–50 m². Afternoon sun, big windows and high ceilings push you up a size. Send us the room size and we will confirm it.
Yes. Daikin inverter wall splits are heat pumps: they heat as well as cool, and use far less electricity than a bar or oil heater for the same warmth.
A purifier cleans the air of smoke, pollen, dust and pet dander. A dehumidifier takes moisture out, which stops condensation, damp and mould. Damp homes usually need the dehumidifier first, and the MeacoDry Arete models filter the air as well.
No. Prices are for the indoor and outdoor units. Installation is quoted separately once we know your site, and is done by our installers.
Courier delivery is free on orders over R1 000 up to 40 kg. Heavier orders carry a weight-based charge, shown at checkout. Orders under R1 000 pay R150.
