DAIKIN SKY AIR
A light-commercial wall unit for large spaces
Sky Air is Daikin’s light-commercial range, built for offices, shops, restaurants and large open-plan homes where a residential wall split runs out of capacity.
This system pairs the FAA100B wall-mounted indoor unit with the AZAS100MV1 Active Series outdoor unit and a BRC1H52 wired controller. Daikin rates the pair at 9.5 kW of cooling (about 32 400 Btu/h) and 10.8 kW of heating at its nominal rating.
It runs on R32 refrigerant and a single-phase 220–240 V supply.
Built for the spaces a residential wall split cannot carry.
EFFICIENCY AND INSTALLATION
Active Series outdoor unit, 30 m of piping
Daikin rates the FAA100B with AZAS100MV1 at a seasonal efficiency of 5.25 (SEER, A) in cooling and 3.81 (SCOP, A) in heating.
The outdoor unit allows up to 30 m of piping to the indoor unit, with up to 30 m of height between them and no extra refrigerant needed across that length, which gives the installer room to place it away from the space being cooled.
The indoor unit is flat-fronted and easy to clean, with piping that can leave from the bottom, left or right, so it suits new buildings and refurbishments alike.
COMFORT
Five discharge angles and a wired controller
The flaps can be set to five discharge angles from the controller, with vertical auto-swing to spread the air through a large space, three fan speeds plus auto, and a dry programme that lowers humidity without swinging the temperature.
Home-leave operation holds the space at a set temperature while it is empty, and auto changeover switches between heating and cooling to hold the set point.
The BRC1H52 wired controller is included. Onecta app control and a weekly timer are available as options.
MADE FOR SOUTH AFRICAN POWER
Daikin South Africa stock
The system is supplied through Daikin South Africa for a 220–240 V single-phase supply, so the local Daikin warranty applies and parts come through Daikin’s South African network.
Auto-restart returns the unit to its original settings after a power failure, and self-diagnosis points a technician to the fault.
A Sky Air system has to be installed by a qualified installer. Our installers cover the major South African cities and quote separately.

How it sits against the alternatives
For a large residential space, the Perfera 24 000 Btu and Sensira 24 000 Btu are the largest residential wall splits, at 7.1 kW. The Sky Air adds about a third more cooling, a wired controller and light-commercial piping lengths.
Where a ceiling installation is possible, the Daikin round flow cassette spreads air in all directions from the centre of the room.
