PERFERA A SERIES
The most powerful Perfera wall split
This is the largest Perfera wall split: the 24 000 Btu model, pairing the FTXM71A indoor unit with the RXM71R outdoor unit. It is for the biggest rooms a single wall unit can serve, such as open-plan living areas with a kitchen and dining space attached.
It shares the wide 997 mm indoor body with the 20 000 Btu Perfera, with the same twin-flap Comfort+ airflow, two-area motion sensor and Flash Streamer, and the most capacity behind them.
At its nominal rating it delivers 7.1 kW of cooling (about 24 200 Btu/h) and 8.2 kW of heating, a true 24 000 Btu class unit.

“3-D airflow: air is blown into all corners of a room.” — Daikin

EFFICIENCY
An inverter from 2.3 to 8.5 kW
At its nominal rating the Perfera 24 000 draws 2.34 kW to deliver 7.1 kW of cooling, an EER of 3.03, and 2.57 kW to deliver 8.2 kW of heat.
The inverter range is wide: 2.3 to 8.5 kW in cooling and 2.3 to 10.2 kW in heating. A large space needs the full output on a hot afternoon, but for most of the day the compressor runs well below it, which is where an inverter saves over a fixed-speed unit.
Econo mode caps the power draw so the aircon can share a supply with other appliances, which matters most at this size on a solar or backup system.
COMFORT+
Twin flaps that spread the air evenly
The A series uses two airflow flaps instead of a single louvre. Together they narrow and steer the air so it carries further and settles evenly across the room, rather than leaving a cold patch under the unit. Daikin calls this Comfort+.
3D airflow combines vertical and horizontal auto-swing to reach the corners, and heat boost brings the room up to temperature up to 14% faster on start-up than a comparable Daikin unit without it.
The two-area motion sensor reads the room. It steers air away from where people are sitting, and when nobody has been detected for a while it drops to an energy-saving setting on its own.

WHERE IT WORKS
Made for the largest open-plan spaces
A space this size is where a single unit has to throw air the furthest. Comfort+ narrows the airflow from the twin flaps so it carries across the room, and 3D airflow sweeps it into the corners, with a 15.8 m³/min fan behind it.
The two-area motion sensor keeps the airflow off people sitting near the unit and drops to an energy-saving setting when the room has been empty for a while.
On its silent setting the indoor unit runs at 32 dBA in cooling, and the silent button takes a further 3 dB off. For very long or L-shaped spaces, two smaller units often cool more evenly than one large one.
CLEANER AIR
Flash Streamer and two purifying filters
Daikin’s Flash Streamer releases a stream of electrons that breaks down airborne allergens such as pollen and mould, and removes odours, as air passes through the indoor unit.
Behind it sit a silver allergen-removal filter, which captures pollen and similar allergens, and a titanium apatite deodorising filter for smells such as cooking, tobacco smoke and pets. The dust filters are removable and washable.
It does not replace a dedicated HEPA purifier for severe allergies or smoke; for that, look at our air purifiers. But the air the Perfera circulates is cleaner than the air it draws in.

MADE FOR SOUTH AFRICAN POWER
Daikin South Africa stock, ready for load-shedding
This unit is supplied through Daikin South Africa for a 220–240 V single-phase supply, so the local Daikin warranty applies and parts come through Daikin’s South African network. Air conditioners brought in by private importers are not always covered here.
Auto-restart returns the unit to its previous settings when the power comes back after an outage. At around 2.3 kW in cooling it is a large load on a home backup system: a 5 kW inverter runs it, but with much less left for the rest of the house, and batteries drain quickly on a hot afternoon.
Control it through the built-in Wi-Fi and Daikin’s Onecta app, at home or away, with a weekly timer and voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. An infrared remote is in the box.

How the Perfera 24 000 Btu sits against the alternatives
The Daikin Sensira 24 000 Btu has the same 7.1 kW cooling rating and built-in Onecta control, with a SEER of 5.3 (A). It does without the Perfera’s Comfort+ twin flaps, motion sensor, Flash Streamer and purifying filters. Both are true 24 000 Btu units; the Perfera is the one built for comfort in a room that is lived in all day.
If the space is nearer 55 m², the Perfera 20 000 Btu uses the same indoor body with less capacity and a lower power draw.
For several rooms, or one very large space, a multi-split system with two or three indoor units on one outdoor unit can cool more evenly than a single wall split.
Questions we are asked about the Perfera 24 000 Btu
Open-plan spaces of up to about 60 m² with a standard ceiling height. Above that, or with double-volume ceilings and large west-facing glass, two units placed at either end of the space usually do a better job than one.
At its nominal rating it draws 2.34 kW in cooling and 2.57 kW in heating. Once the room is at temperature the inverter slows the compressor down, and it can run as low as 2.3 kW of output.
A 5 kW inverter can run it, and Econo mode can cap its draw, but at around 2.3 kW in cooling it is a large share of a typical home backup system. On a hot afternoon with other appliances running, expect your batteries to drain quickly. Auto-restart brings it back to its previous settings once the power returns.
Indoors it runs from 32 dBA on silent to 47 dBA on high in cooling. The outdoor unit is rated at 47 dBA in cooling. Both units have a silent button that lowers their sound level by 3 dB.
Yes. Wi-Fi is built in, and Daikin’s Onecta app controls the unit at home or away, with scheduling and a view of past energy use. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The infrared remote is also supplied.
No. A split system has to be installed by a qualified installer, with copper piping, cabling and a bracket or base for the outdoor unit. Our installers cover the major South African cities and quote separately. The units can sit up to 30 m apart (20 m in height).
It cleans the air it circulates: Flash Streamer breaks down allergens and odours, a silver filter captures pollen, and a titanium apatite filter deodorises. It is not a HEPA air purifier, so for severe allergies or smoke a dedicated air purifier is the right tool.
